Atom Game 2 summary

The players put in a good week of practice and it showed on the field. Overall the game was well played on both sides of the ball. The offense was able to move the ball downfield, while the defense tackled well and caused problems for the Cougars.

There are two key moments that I will highlight. The first being an incredible 8 play long goal line stand at the end of the 3rd quarter and beginning of the 4th. What an amazing team effort by all. The second moment was when our QB Andrew fought free from what looked like a sure sack and found Tyler downfield with a pass, who then 'rumbled' for a TD. Great individual efforts, made possible by crucial blocks by teammates.

At the end of the game I was complimented by the opposing coach and the referee for the team's ability to execute plays. This game was a true a team effort, well done.

Allthough all players are important to the team, some players deserve to be mentioned for their effort and contribution to the team. In no particular order the players of the game are: Tyson, Keandre, Max, T.T., Tyler, Andrew, Noah

Mosquito Game Summary and MVPs Week 2

Week 2 v. St. Leonard - 46-8 W

The boys had an amazing day. They played a suffocating defence to go along with a high speed offence that St. Leo could not keep up with. It was amazing to see the confidence they had in all facets of the game. They should be extremely proud of themselves...I know the coaching staff is.

Week 2 Awards:

Nicholas - 2 passing TD's and 1 rushing TD. Showed a lot of composure rolling out and waiting for the WR to be free while 2 coaches were yelling at him from the sidelines to throw it away. Glad he's at QB and not us.

Dylan J - was in on 5 tackles but made a huge play to recover a fumble and turn it into a score.

Daniel - Not only was his blocking excellent, he showed real leadership when one of his teammates needed a friend to lift his spirits during a tough sequence. Way to go Daniel.

Dylan B - The hammer award is given to the impact player of the game. Usually a big or timely hit on defence or picking up hard yards on offence. Dylan manged both on Saturday. In only his 2nd football game he finished the day with 89 rushing yards and 2 TDs to go along with 2 receiving TDs and 52 yards receiving. He also had the biggest hit of the day on defence making a great open field tackle finishing the day with 3 total tackles and 1 pass deflected. What a game.

Mosquito Game Summary and MVPs Week 1

Week 1 v. Chateauguay - 18-6 L

I think all the players and coaches would love a 2nd chance at this game. Boys were extremely nervous but played really hard against a good defensive team filled with 2nd year players. We had our chances but came up a little short. It was a solid 1st game for our rookies and 1st year mosquito players. Definitely something they could build off of.

Week 1 Awards:

Ashtin - He was our leading rusher and scored our only TD of the day on a great run.

Brenden - 2 huge sidelines tackles that could have resulted in big gains for the Raiders if not touchdowns.

Gianni - other than the 1st snap, the exchange with the QB was clean all game and he was a force on the line.

Jushane - He had the DL shaking in their cleats. Hit that line hard every time he ran the ball. Huge tackle when we punted. That punt returner wanted no part of that play.
