Booze Baskets - VIP Day!!!

Every year on our VIP Day (October 22nd) we raffle off baskets of wine or other adult beverages as part of our end of year fundraiser. Last year we had 7 baskets and each basket contained 10 bottles. This year we are once again asking for a donation of a bottle of wine (or other) from each player. The money raised is used for our end of year banquet which was held at Cage aux Sports last year, trophies for the players and our free indoor season. Each player will also be given a booklet of raffle tickets in the coming weeks to sell to family and friends (2$ each ticket). Your team manager will be collecting bottles starting tonight until mid October.

NSFL Concussion Protocol

Great initiative by the NSFL. Please read regarding concussion protocol.

Concussion Protocol Policy (version in French below)

The NSFL has implemented a new Concussion Protocol Policy.

This is a very important new initiative by North Shore Football. As you all know the issue of concussions and head injuries are front and center in the minds of the general public.

The NSFL is very aware of this problem and is taking steps to assure parents that we provide our children athletes with a safe environment and safe place to play.

The 100% cooperation and implementation of the protocol by everyone (athletes, parents, coaches, staff and executives) is required to ensure that the initiative is successful.

The NSFL has aligned themselves with Synergy Sports Therapy, a West Island Sports Medicine Clinic to provide concussion related services for the safety of our athletes.

This is how it will work:
If an athlete is removed from a game or practice because of a suspected concussion they will need to adhere to the following Return to Play Protocol.

They must be visited and cleared by a doctor or visit the Athletic Therapist at Synergy Sports Therapy to be evaluated and cleared before returning to participate in any football practice or game.

Synergy Sports Therapy will be providing free consultation for any of our athletes suspected of receiving a head injury during a football practice or game.

The team manager or Head coach will inform the athleteís parents to visit a doctor or the Athletic Therapist at Synergy Sports Therapy.

The team manager or Head coach will also inform the NSFL VP of Parks, Synergy Sports Therapy and the Team Park Director, indicating the name of the athlete, the category, date and time of the injury.

If an athlete canít see a doctor immediately, the allocated date and time to visit Synergy Sports Therapy is every Monday evening from 6-7PM.

Synergy Sports Therapy is located at 72 Boulevard Brunswick, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC H9B 2L3. Their phone # is (514) 575-0550.

If the athlete is visited and allowed to return to play by a doctor, a doctorís note must be provided by the parent to the Park Director. If the athlete is cleared to play by the Athletic Therapist at Synergy Sports Therapy, the therapist will inform the VP of Parks, the Park Director the Head Coach and the Manager.

Under no circumstances is the athlete allowed to return to practice or play without being cleared by a doctor or the Athletic Therapist at Synergy Sports Therapy.
